Residence in Hamet

Designed: Current              Location: North Lebanon

Preliminary studies for a proposal consisting of the renovation of an existing 1920s stone structure and a 400 sqm addition with a pool and a pool house.

The annex sits in close proximity to the existing house, with the vertical circulation volume as the sole link.  The new volume turns its side to the existing structure, allowing the stone facade to remain dominant.  Its long side opens up to the pool area and the pool house, making it its front facade and creating an entertainment area away from the quiet functions of the existing structure.  The materials of the annex are meant to completely contrast with the stone structure, marking the timeline and the evolution of the residence.
